I swore i would never be one of those crazy people that posted every tiny detail about their pregnancy. But this, i cannot forget. I am watching Pride and Prejudice while i'm working on some homework. Nora is kicking like crazy!!!! Either that or she's got a case of the hiccups. I can't really tell the difference yet but it's pretty neat to feel her kick. Dane finally got to feel her kick the other night and it was fabulous!

I'm sure she's kicking because i just ate lunch but i'd like to think it's because my
favorite movie is on!
Good to know she's like her mama. She loves her daddy and pride and prejudice!

Tuesday, the Doctor said it's still a baby girl!! He also looked at her heart, brain, spine and kidneys. He said everything looked great. I am so relieved! Hopefully she stays that way. Perfectly great.

Monday, we took advantage of our day off from work and school and spent half the day at IKEA and the rest of the day putting it all together.I spent the other half looking at fabric for the nursery with my mom. We couldn't buy anything colorwise because we weren't 100% sure it was a girl until the next day. So as of right now, here is what sweet baby Nora's room looks like. I will be sure to Girl it up in the coming months!

My Belly and Half way!!

I am 20 weeks. Hallelujah!!!! In other news....My Belly has popped! I have been feeling so much better and boy am I glad! throwing up everyday, multiple times a day was not my cup of tea. However it reassured me that i was actually pregnant. Now that my belly has popped and is ever growing i am still reassured.

Lately...... Just some memoirs
I love food. or at least eat all the time. I feel like if I don't eat every hour and a half or two hours i will die or throw up. So, i'm a really good snacker. Weirdly enough, i have only gained 3 lbs the entire pregnancy. It doesn't look like it but it's true... Hopefully i gained some weight over the holidays!

Two weeks ago I had a lovely experience at Cafe Rio. I ate really fast and had that lovely urge to toss my cookies. Luckily two little girls were headed to the bathroom and I politely told them i had to throw up really fast...they stared as they let me in. I made it just in time. Three days later I threw up at Tasty's... I didn't quite make it to the loo. Since then, i have learned to eat much slower no matter how hungry i am... Lesson Learned!! Since then i haven't been sick at all, but if i don't eat i have hell to pay later on.

Last weekend, Dane and I were watching the Help, and i felt something new. We paused the movie and tears streamed down my face as i experienced my baby girl kicking/punching me. It felt like a light flick or popcorn popping in my belly. I felt terrible that dane couldn't be apart of it or feel her or anything. It was heart wrenching and marvelous all at the same time. simply fabulous. Last night, I was laying on my side and i felt a kick about 2-3 inches deep in my stomach. a few seconds later i felt another one about 4 inches to the right. It's so weird that something is constantly moving, growing and living in me. I can't wait for my appointment on Tuesday. We find out (hopefully) 100% whether we are having a girl or boy.I keep having weird suspicions that we're having a boy...I guess we'll wait and see on Tuesday!

Oh Baby Baby!

So today we had our 16 week ultrasound and i realized that i haven't really kept track of what has happened thus far. So to re-cap and remember later on what happened, i'll do a blurb!

I haven't been sick since about week 13. It's been SOOOOO nice not throwing up every morning. I've got a little belly and i love maternity pants. I still wear my normal jeans just because i haven't worked up an awesome maternity wardrobe quite yet. Food is tasting great and i'm hungry every hour and a half it seems like. For the most part this pregnancy has been wonderful! I've only gained 3 pounds...so i need to work a little harder in the poundage area but i'm sure that will come on it's own with time.

We found out today that we are having a baby...........

GIRL!

Dane isn't really a squealing giggly type when it comes to showing excitement. But when we finished calling our friends and family, he asked where the nearest old navy was. This is what he bought his sweet baby girl!

When the Doc was doing the ultrasound he said do you want to know what you're having? And we were on the edge of our seats...waiting... "well if your daughter would move her legs i could see" Is what the Doctor said. I couldn't believe it! I always thought it was a baby girl but now i've got proof! we are so excited we can barely hold it in. As I type, Dane is assembling our crib and i can't wait to start decorating and shopping for our Sweet Baby Eleanor whom we'll usually call Nora

It's about time this news made it to the blogging world.... We're having a

BABY!!!!

We are so excited we can hardly stand it! Our bundle of joy is due to arrive June 3rd, but i'd take late May any day!

Paying tribute to the porcelain god every morning is terrible but reassuring. I know it sounds weird but i like knowing that everything is going good in there since i can't check as often as i'd like.

We're supposedly finding out what we're having (besides a human) on December 20th! I can't wait to get decorating and shopping!!!!

Hoarding...

Yes... Dane and I have recently taken up hoarding! It's been such a great adventure! Reason why we were temporary hoarders is because we redid our hard wood floors practically throughout our house. We have wood floors in both bedrooms, the little hallway and the front room. Here's some pics to document our (Dane's) hard work!

Bear Lake!

Every August we pack up the car and get on the road to Bear Lake! It's always such a blast and we love veggin at the beach and hangin out at the cabin. My most favorite part of Bear lake is playing games and watching Oh Brother with the boys. Why they giggle like children while watching that show is a mystery to me, but i LOVE it!

For Ruth's birthday, we got her a little kit to make erasers...this is sweet Dane helping her make one.

Mission Accomplished/California

My little brother Taylor returned from his mission July 21! It was so wonderful to see him for the first time in 2 years. Here's some picks of that day and... our trip to California!! We went to Disneyland, Sea World, the beach, a Major league baseball game for the San Diego Padres, and a wonderful day of relaxing. we ate at some awesome places and had a blast watching our new obsession... LOST. love it!

My style of camping is not like real camping. In fact it's cabining! A few weeks ago our friends invited us up to Eden to hang out and play games. The next morning we went shooting. Oh Boy. I have NEVER held a gun in my life. Dane didn't think i was up for the challenge...i proved him wrong! Look at me hold that gun! I shot my first clay pigeon on my first shot ever in my life and the kick back didn't send me flying..as i thought it would. So much fun!

Paint jobs....

I have grown to be a fast a furious painter. Since school has been out it might not look like i've done anything to my house, but boy have i! I have painted ceilings in my bedroom, nursery (no that is not an announcement, simply a future location) and hallway. I have also painted all the blasted door frames and their doors. We are prepping to do the floors next and it's a tad bit overwhelming! Here are some pics of the new and the old:)

This is the hallway cabinet...it was wood originally, and i painted it and put cute knobs on it.

Athlete

Dane is amazing at any athletic thing he does. Running used to be my thing, but he has totally shown me up! He is a running/biking machine! He and his buddies did the Red Rock relay in May and are doing another Relay similar to the Ragnar put on by Red Rock again in Zions in September! I can't wait!

Since the last race, he has taken to biking much more. This last weekend he did the ever famous MS Race in Logan. He signed up for 40 and ended up getting lost and doing about 55 miles. He did the race with a bunch of co-workers and had a blast. I'm so proud of him! He is awesome and i hope he does a triathlon someday...he would be awesome!!

Thank you to everyone that contributed to the race for Dane! we are so grateful that he had the chance to do this! Also, we were lucky enough to have dinner with my grandparents, and stay over night with Dane's grandparents! Such a blast!

For Christmas, Dane got a firepit. It is AWESOME!!! We have used it two times so far. We used it two saturdays ago when it was sunny and warm and this last Saturday when it was pouring rain. Yes we used it under our porch covering while it was raining. Maybe it wasn't safe, but we LOVED IT!!! This is just a sign that we are going to be using it a ton this summer with all of our amazing friends.

Didn't i get married so that i could spend maximum time with Dane? The saying you don't know what you've got til it's gone...at least for a few days ...hit me so hard today. I feel like i barely get to see dane as it is and when i do see him, i'm telling him to pick up his clothes, help me out and rub my neck. Why do i squander our precious time together? I DO NOT KNOW! Seriously. I miss Dane more than i ever have (besides those wretched 3 months last year) and it's only been 1 day! I guess it's time to start making the best of the time we have together because it's only going to get smaller in the fall. I didn't realize until today how extremely precious the time we have together is and how utterly Fabulous my life is with Dane. I am an extremely blessed girl to have caught such an incredible and patient man;) Love you Dane!

Moab 2011

We Went down to Moab for a weekend vacation. It was a blast! The boys ran in the Red Rock Relay and said it was a BLAST!! We rented out a sweet trailer and had the time of our lives with our greatest friends. I didn't get a ton of pictures because we had 5 other cameras taking them along the way, so here are all the pics i got of our fabulous trip. No trip would be complete without a Reese getting a speeding ticket. We got pulled over in Wellington by some old man with a handle bar mustache. He told us he was going to give us a ticket for 9 over before he even went back to his car to check out Danes stuff. Weird!

This picture has a story. the girls went to breakfast after the boys left for the race. We went to a place called the Pancake Haus. Michelle asked for chocolate milk for Izzy, and this is what our waiter brought. We all just stared at it like we didn't understand why he brought this. Jenna almost said, "no, chocolate milk." but she saw the thick layer of Hershey's syrup at the bottom of the glass. Seriously so funny. Most of us had tears from laughing.

Road Bikes, NOT MOTORCYCLES!

Dane has recently been trapped by a new obsession. Road bikes. Yep that's right a super skinny tire bicycle. He has come home from work everyday and done hours of research on it and told me all about the best type of components and forks and pedals and stuff that i am extremely clueless about. It's been really fun to watch him be interested in something BESIDES Aggie sports.

I decided that if he was going on a bike ride, i knew i would feel sad and left out. So i decided i wanted a bike too! What a fun couples activity:)

So Finally this weekend he went to draper to look at a bike he had been looking at on KSL. He thought he wanted a used bike...Turns out his phone died and i had no idea where he was! I didn't know if he was still in draper, coming to get me for dinner to go back to my parents or what! finally he called me from a bike shop in salt lake and told me where he was and that he wanted to look at new bikes.

I met him at the store and i walked in and instead of freaking out like normal wife...i kissed him and told him i was excited to see him and that he decided to buy a new bike. (it took some serious self control!) End of story, we bought two new bikes! New shoes and pedals.

Sunday: we decided to ride our new bikes to Sunday dinner at Nancy's. I have never had clips before so i had to practice before we left. I feel about 5 times on our lawn. I just couldn't clip in! Finally i got it and we rode to safety to Nancy's. At Nancy's i clipped out of my left foot and while trying to clip out of my right i fell. hard. My elbow is all scratched up and it hurts to lean on it. Its just bruised, but it still hurts!

Today: we took a bike ride up to Gordon and my legs were so cold and tired we had to turn around. On our way back, we had to stop at the stop light. I did great clipping out of my left foot, but i fell again! I'm such a Klutz! Luckily i didn't hurt anything this time:) Needless to say i need some work. Dane like usual is an instantaneous pro.

I love our new hobby and i look forward to many more longer, less painful, warmer rides!! No worries, i'll post a pick of our sick bikes!

Wake up call!

Dane wakes up at 5AM every morning for work! He's such a hard worker. Well i normally sleep with earplugs so i don't have to listen to him wake up and rummage around the house and SNORE! He normally kisses me goodbye and leaves for work. On this particular morning, i did not wear my ear plugs. I heard every door being slammed He kissed me goodbye and i heard him start the car and leave. Thank heavens! As i was falling back asleep i heard the house creaking and cracking like normal. i was almost asleep when i heard a grocery sack being let out. That FREAKED me out! i grabbed my phone and jumped out of bed. I opened the bedroom door and said "hello?" Danes like hey hun! whatcha doin! I was so freaked out. I for sure thought i was going to die! I totally thought some crazy loon was in my house prepared to kill me! my heart was in my throat and it was only 5:30 AM i was extremely incoherent.. i started crying i was so scared. Sweet Dane knew how scared i was and had me lock the door after he left.

On my way to school that morning, he called me to see how i was doing. I was a little more coherent, so I wasn't freaking out still. How sweet is he!

Moral of the story, lock your doors and make sure you know when your husband leaves for work.

Success! and STRESS

Running and racing has been going great! This last saturday,(yeah the one with all the cold wet snow!) dane and i ran in a 5k at my work. He did great! he sprinted off at the start and i never could see him after that. Yeah, i'm slow... but i think i did pretty good considering my throat was burning and it was miserable weather. We are running yet another fun 5k at the end of April. April 30th to be exact:) by then all this stress i call school will be gone and i will begin again may 2.

Stress: I know my post before last was about spontaneous combustion, but it's about to happen again. All i can say is bring on the D.C.! Dane has been such a rockstar through all of this. He asks me all the time if there is anything he can help me with, and of course there always is:) he rocks! love him.

Dane has lately been OBSESSED with a bike. a road bike to be precise. He really wants to be active outdoors this year. His goals are:
camping often
running a half marathon in august
MS bike race in august or september
and a 10k in july with me on his favorite day of the year. The 4th of July!
and probably some other fun outdoorsy stuff.
Oh, and the Red Rock Relay!

He is so excited for all of these things, i just hope our bodies don't give out on us!

My goals this summer are:
10k in July with Daneo
Half marathon in August
Get comfortable on a road bike (yes i'm considering it also. i don't want to be sitting at home wishing i was out riding with him)
have awesome vacations in cali and bear lake
finish summer school with a BANG! (this means major shopping:)
read some fun books.

We are super excited for this crap we call weather to clear up and get hot. we can't wait to start BBQ season with our friendies!!

spring cleaning!

So today i did a LOT of cleaning. I am not sure why, but when i was putting away the laundry, i noticed how disorganized dane's closet was and decided it was time i helped him say good bye to many a shirt. two garbage bags worth. The man has at least 15 utah state t-shirts if not more and more polos than he knows what to do with, jeans he will never wear again. Seriously, he dresses extremely well, but it was time. After i organized his casual closet, i started on his dress closet. I am currently washing 90% of his dress shirts. also, does one man need this many ties?
i pulled out probably 15 ties that he will NEVER wear. i mean i've never even seen him try them on pretending like he's going to wear it. never. so today when he got home from work, i said i need you to go through those bags and check your stuff. He noticed the ties on top and said, oh i need to keep all of these. i was like WHAT!? no way. you have WAY TOO MANY TIES! but i guess if it means that much to him to have every single tie he has ever owned in his closet (much like the utah state shirts) then i will allow it. after all, it's not my closet right?!

My closet:
I have no issues with saying goodbye to items i haven't worn in the past year or even 6 months. if it's worn out, no longer fits, or even close to fitting, GONZO! Except for right this minute, i'm trying lose inches to potentially fit into some items, so i'll keep those for motivation. Otherwise, GONE! if i wore it in high school, gone. It's so refreshing to throw out things that you don't need anymore or don't wear or wouldn't wear if you could!

Spring cleaning is awful in the middle, but fabulous after it's all done and away with! glad it's over...for now

This is a DARLING vase that Randi got for my birthday! it goes perfect with my bedroom colors, it's sitting on top of our dresser next to our little tv.
I finally put pics in my picture boards, so cute! if i say so myself:)

The 3 picture frames on the right, i made. i got the idea from pier 1. i just strung some wire across and painted some mini clothes hangers and walah!

I got this idea from Nancy. I got drawer knobs from hobby lobby to hang my neckli on (plurl for necklace) and i made the mirror. Hobby lobby had 50% off picture frames, so i just got a mirror to fit inside this cute frame! the wicker basket i painted to go with my colors, i think it turned out rather cute!
This is a fab find! i got this mirror at DI for $5!!!! i painted the frame to fit in.

Laudry room

So, we've been on a house remodel sabbatical, and it's now time to get going again before the weather turns good and we have to start working on our disastrous yard! So, we've been working on the laundry room. Dane's been awesome to work so hard on the house the last 2 weeks. We're almost to the point where we just have to do the floors and trim and be all done...at least until we have a little someone to put into that second bedroom. no we're not prego. here's some picks!

So this is the before picture. The walls had white board disgusting stuff glued on and so we ripped it off. In doing so, it took off some of our lath and plaster wall.. . .ancient wall, and so dane had to float over it.

Here is the little window before...ugly right?! dane had to float all over that, then sand it down, float again, sand again texture then paint. then paint again. These walls have been babied! but look how great they turned out! he did fabulous!

Spontaneous Combustion!

I'm fine with being busy. Everyone is busy! but do you ever feel so overloaded with stress and the million things you've got going that you feel like you're going to spontaneously combust?! I DO! I felt like i was literally going to explode yesterday, but i calmed myself just enough to purchase one of these:

I really could have used this,But i figured my arm would get tired. After a good drink and chat with my friends, i realized that everyone is busy and we all have schedules to keep and we're just doing the best we can! So Here's to survival this semester and Diet Coke!

Dane's Birthday!

SO, This here fella just turned 26. Holy cow! He's so old. Ok not really, but it seems like 26 is almost 30. . . . For his Birthday, he told me he only wanted tickets to the WAC tourny in vegas. how BORING!! I told him since Zach, Lance, Spencer and Colin didn't get those for their birthdays, neither should he. It's just a given that he's going. So, i got him some other sweet stuff. He got a gift card to "Old Lady" and some new running shoes and an armband for his phone. We celebrated friday night by going to Tucanos and the movie "Unknown". Dane has this funny obsession with Liam Neeson. He LOVES Liam. So we had a fabulous time at the movies. Dano i love ya! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Running

I've been trying to get into a good workout regime for a long time. I don't think i've worked out consistently since i've been married. Needless to say, i've gained weight. It's ok though! right?? I've been chatting with my runner friend Jenna about working out and why i have such a hard time getting up and going to the gym. I know it will make me feel better, and look better so why is it so hard!!!!!!! I've decided that it's because i haven't made it a priority. I've worked really hard at making it a priority. Now that it's just routine, i think, how did i "not have enough time!" Of course i'm cruched for time during the week, but isn't my health of the utmost importance? I think so.

Anyways! for my birthday, Dane got me these sweet babies:

These are supposed to be the best running shoe. I asked for running shoes and he delivered! these have been the most amazing shoes so far. He also got me some running tanks and shorts. I'm all set for the gym! now i don't look so ghetto using his clothes. . . mine didn't fit OK! So here's to a year of being fit and healthy.

Me and my friend Kellie are running in the March 26th 5k in So, Jordan. Anyone wanna join?! i think my sister and dad are going to run it too!! It will be so much fun.

10k in june or july and half marathon in August!! i've done it before i can do it again right??

Decorating!!

Dane and i have kinda been in remodel mode off and on since we moved into our house. A few months ago, we decided to make a big move and buy a tool! a paint sprayer. I could not handle this hideous rock any more, so Dane painted it! here are the before and after photos:

Looks so much better! it feels so good to relax and watch TV in that room.PS Dane and Lance built that cabinet using some wooden boxes we bought at Ikea long ago. I'm so proud!

Now for a little more excitement! Dane has been utterly wonderful to sit back and let me take the reins on decorating the front room. Normally we collaborate and see what we both like. This time it's all me!!! Here are some pics of the room before and after:

This is a great find! We found this at the ogden DI while thrift store shopping with Zach and Shawn. It was $15. Do i feel good about it Oh Yeah! My and Jenna painted it on our girls crafty day! Below is the finished product.

This is an idea i've had for a while. These are ribbon boards that i made. I got the two smaller frames at savers for $12 and got some fabric and batting and went to town! I used furniture nails as the center round pieces. This was a lot of fun and a lot of work. Glad it's all up! I plan on putting pictures in them eventually. All of our pics are up in the attic. I will NEVER go up there. So, i have to wait until Dane can do it for me.

This Kitchen cart i got off of KSL. It was a darker color on the bottom. I paid $20. There is one almost exactly like it only a little bigger at Ikea selling for $200. plus it's on casters which is amazing! perfect for our little kitchen.This is another project that jenna and i painted on our crafty saturday!

First of all, Dane painted the wall for me. it looks a bajillion times better!! He also hung the shelves. yes there are two! The vases on the shelf i got at savers in ogden for $12. I've been thinking about getting slipcovers for my furniture in this room for a long time. Dane never like the idea. So we thought if we put some cute pillows on them that it would help blend everything together. Wrong! So now we're getting slipcovers! But i'm still keeping the pillows! I LOVE them

We have been without internet! crazy right? i know. That's why i haven't posted anything since like august. Something of note since then has been our car situation. When it rains it pours right? On the monday after christmas, Dane was driving to work and the car way in front of him started doing a 180. They hit tips and pulled over to the side of the road to exchange info and wait for the cops. While he was waiting Dane called his boss to tell him he would be a little late. As soon as he hung up he looked in his rear view mirror to a car doing 360's on the ice. And BAM!!! he got hit from behind.

NOW, o new years eve i was scheduled to float up at the ogden bookstore. On my way there i hit some ice. I slid a bit but got control of my car. As soon as i stopped i looked up in my mirror to see what was happening behind me and CRASH! i got hit. I called Dane and he just started laughing. What can you do when you now have two cars that are damaged?! laugh right?? oh it's so funny to look back on, but it is now 3 weeks later and my car is all finished, cleaned, painted and ready to roll. Dane's hasn't even hit the shop yet!! WARNING: do not ever or try to ever work with State Farm insurance! they will hang up on you!!!

SO, Dane has had to work with 2 insurance companies. State Farm and Farmers. Farmers is just waiting on State Farm to get their crap together. They are still waiting on the police report. They told Dane that they usually take care of things withing 10-14 days of the acident. Dane laughed at them and said, well i'm sorry but its now 15 days after the accident and you're still waiting on the police report? I'll fax it to you. Just yesterday he was on the phone with a rep from state farm and she kept interrupting him, so he asked for a supervisor and she wouldn't. after 5 mins of going back and forth, she finally hung up on him!! soo hilarious and so bad.

This has been part of my marriage from day one. There are days that I try and get into with Dane, and there are other days i want to hack into it and make it disappear. Why? is it because i'm threatened by it? maybe. But here it is football season and my husband is jumping for joy like a kid on christmas day. i love billy madison. great show. i share that same feeling of going back to school after a relaxing summer full of adventure. It's bittersweet. I have spent this summer exploring my options. i wasn't really sure what i wanted to do. but i knew i needed to find something i liked. Business didn't cut it. So, i looked around, and found that my best option was where i was at. weber. I switched my major from Business admin to Family Studies. I start tomorrow, and i really hope that i like it. It will take me the same amount of time, but i chose to switch because i am hoping that i will like it better and besides, i'm still young, i've really got nothing to lose right? well that's the story i'm sticking with so far. good bye summer.hello fall. in dane's terms. . . hello football/basketball season.

Bear Lake

This last week we spent with Dane's family in Bear lake. we left last sunday right after church and sped our way through canyons and traffic to get up there. It was a blast! i'm sorry i won't have pictures up yet, but i will, oh trust me. there are many pics to be shared. we had a blast with 3 babies and 5 kiddies to keep us busy. we spent most of our time on the beach just lovin up the sun. the worst part was coming home to reality. it always stinks to come home to reality. especially when school is around the corner. But, we had a blast and i'm glad we were able to go up the whole week. Thanks lane and nancy! we loved being with ya'll!

I can't believe that Dane and i have been married for 2 years. it seems like a blissful blur. I love my hubs with all my heart. i'm the luckiest girl in the world. Sometimes i need reminding, but i always feel blessed to have married such a wonderful man. he takes such good care of me and he is my best friend. i love you Dane! So. . . it's obviously been a LOOOOOng time since i've posted, but it's only because we have been working on the kitchen, and i didn't want to do a small post about paint. BORING! so here it is. what ya'll have been waiting for. the transformation of the ugly to the pretty. my kitchen!! oh I cannot forget the fantastic help of Lance, Nancy, Jon and Abbie oh and of course my awesome hubbs Dane for making this kitchen remodel possible!

On the last post, i told you all about my floor. Well, here are some picks of how sick the floor is. We couldn't have pulled it up without this awesome tool we rented from the Depot.
This is the floor down to the nitty grittyThis is hardy backer. It pretty much is the best thing ever!! it levels out your floor (as much as possible) and you screw it down into your sub floor t eliminate creaking and to secure it.

This is the first setting of the tile. Jon McBride helped us out a TON to get this kitchen started.

When Jon had to leave, we finished up the floor. good for amateurs right??

This is the floor when it was newly grouted, for the record, i grouted the kitchen and Dane did the Laundry room. He was watching the soccer game. He did awesome at cleanup!

Onto the paint! i like bright colors in kitchens. it is just so fun and happy. apparently. . . i struggled. . . .a lot.

Thanks to Nancy i was able to go through 9 paint samples and pick the BEST color!

drumroll please! Yes, i built this myself. We were getting our granite installed, and the two ends of the stove were seriously unlevel. so i built a big shim to make it even. unfortunately, it was WAY to high, and they ended up taking it off and leveling it themselves. they did better than me. But they recommended i become a contractor.

This doesn't do the paint justice. it look yellow and gross. it's actually a really subtle, yet fun lime green.

Freezer Jam!

On Sunday, Shawn was talking about how she made some freezer jam and how easy it was. I was asking her about it, and decided to make some. I had watched my mom make raspberry jam when i was younger, but i've never done it myself. SO, i took myself to the grocery store and bought all the stuff for it, and here's how it turned out! It was SUPER easy. I was worried that i would mess up, but if you can read, you can make freezer jam. It's still in it's "24 hour" period, so i haven't tried it yet, but i'm sure its delicious! Thanks for telling me all about it Shawn! And thanks mom and Nancy for helping figure out exactly which pectin to use.

To start, we had to rip out the cabinets in the laundry room. Zach cam over to help Dane.

Sick! this is the linoleum under the sub floor. So this is the second layer of linoleum. If you can spot the red, that would be the third layer of linoleum.
Dane. Frustrated. the people who did the floor were glue and nail happy. every few inches there is a nail, and the glue is over 50 years old, so of course it's rotten, but not enough to just crumble. It is HORRIBLE!
So, instead of doing a nice wood trim, they GLUED on tile as base boards. Gross!! i took a flat head and a hammer, and got these all off in a matter of minutes. It ripped off the wall however, so we'll need to fix that before we put on real based boards.
This is the spot where the dishwasher and fridge sit. You can tell, it's a super old house.

Dane got up the entire first 2 layers in the laundry room last night. Now for the bottom layers. . .
the last layer of linoleum, or the original floor. This is glued down with some black tar glue. SOo hard to get up off the wood subfloor.
Since we've started, we have had to once again live out of our front room. Our appliances won't be able to move back in until we finish the tile. Such a joy!!

Bon Jovi Concert

on Wednesday, Dane came home with the Best surprise! Bon Jovi tickets for Saturday night!!! The best husband ever?? I THINK SO!!!! We had soooooo much fun. Aside from watching all the drunk people dance their dignity away, we had fun jamming out. They played for 3 hours straight. INCREDIBLE!!. We got some awesome pics of MR. Bon Jovi himself, so here is the last half of what we did on Saturday.

I flew out on Friday night. Luckily, everything went great with Berkley and he got here safe. On Saturday, Dane took me shopping. He's the man. He knows exactly what i love to do!! What a great husband! We walked from wall street, to Chinatown, Little Italy, and Soho. We ended up at Lombardi's for dinner, so yummy! My mom, Sister and I took a 4 day trip to Disneyland! We had so much fun. The weather was great, the lines were short, we didn't wait more than 20 minutes for any ride. We are for sure the Disney Guru's!

So Berkley has been doing this funny thing. I think he is desperate to play because he'll come and drop his toys at my feet while i'm doing my hair or washing dishes or something, he'll come and pull on my pant leg until i throw his toy. Sometimes he doesn't know when i'm wearing pants or shorts because he'll climb up on my leg, then dig in his claws and drag them down my leg until i throw his toy. OWIE!!!! but he has learned his lesson, and now only puts the toy at my feet and tugs on my pants legs when they are there. If there are no pant legs to tug on, he'll just howl!! ow how i love my little puppy!!

Slacking!

i know i know i know. I'm such a slacker! what can i say?? my life has been a whirlwind since Dane left after his awesome holiday. I am 3 days away from being done with this semester, and then i go to Disneyland with my mom and sister!!!!! We'll be there from saturday til tuesday, and i'm just sooo thrilled to be going away on a little vacation. Can't wait. After that, i have two and a half days to get packed and get on my way to NYC!!!!!!! oh the joy i will have in NYC. i miss Dane, and i don't like calling Nancy and Lance at 11 to come over and check my closets for strange men. (Although i don't want to downplay how grateful i am that they came over, i just don't want to bug them anymore than i already have.) Girls never sneak into houses. it's always strange men. So, let's just say i'm excited to stop sleeping alone, and having weird thoughts of people in my house while i'm alone. And. . . . . i'm just as excited to be done with school, yet not excited to start back up in just one weeks time.

Home for the Holidays!!

Dane has been gone for almost 3 weeks. This weekend, he has Friday off (Good Friday) and so i was really sad when he wasnt going to come home for the weekend. Well, Nancy worked some magic, and he's coming home!!!!!! I'm so excited i can hardly stand it!! He is coming home Friday and going back Sunday night. I can't wait to see him!! What a fabulous surprise for Easter!!! After Sunday, he'll be gone for 3 weeks, then he'll come home again to pick me up, and I'll go out with him. We aren't sure how long we will be out there, but we'll definitely be back before august is over. We can't wait for this awesome adventure to begin!!

So, my house was in utter disarray. I just hadn't had the time to do all that i needed. Like put my kitchen back together, clean up my front room, and re-arrange my second bedroom. My family decided to jump in and help me!! They are awesome!! they came over and helped my clean up everything. I now have my front room, kitchen, second bedroom and family room back to normal. Thanks fam!

Ok, So Dane got a sweet job offer with Goldman Sachs. We have been waiting to hear back when he would be leaving for training, and he leaves March 15th. So soon. He will be training in Jersey City New Jersey, and staying in the middle of Manhattan New York. We are so excited to start this new opportunity, and i can't wait to get out there and join him. Unfortuneately, i have to wait for this semester to end, oh and of course go to Disneyland right after that. But, yes i am pretty sure i'm going out at the beginning of May. I'm just itchin to shop!!! Proud of you babe. I love you!!!

This is the other half! it took us sooo long to get these painted. oil based paint is the best when you look at what it does for your wood, but MAN!! its a pain in the butt to clean off your paint brushes and rollers. So, we ended up just buying new rollers every times we painted. sooo stupid. AND we discovered how much we hate ACE hardware because they charge 2-3 times as much as Home Depot.

so . . . this pic is of dane ripping out staples from our couch. the reason he did this is because i dropped my phone in the couch. yes, down the arm and in between the bottom and the springs. so, we flipped it upside down, and dane ripped out half the staples so i could get my phone. It was funny after, but dane was really mad. huh, weird!!

so this is the inside of one of my cabinets, there was linoleum in it!!! yup you read right folks! linoleum. GROSS!!! I scraped out all the under stuff with a flat head screw driver. so frustrating.
now that i painted them, i can't wait to get them up against my cabinets. too bad they aren't done yet! oh well. Soon enough i guess.
before i painted the cabinet hardware, i had to cook it in my crockpot overnight. you wouldn't believe how much crap came off. they were still ugly though!

This is what it looks like when it got painted. we have to redo some spots, but it looks 100 times better than it did before. next plan is to paint the brick on the fire place white.

so dane was filling in the cracks from our hideous panneling with wood epoxy, so now it looks like beadboard! its so cute. we then painted it a sweet french blue. all pretty!!

So berkley is our new pup! dane got him for me for christmas. he is such a cute pup, but sometimes he drives me nuts!! he is so cuddly and he loves to play fetch. he gets into lots of trouble just like a boy should. he is a mini australian shepherd, and we got him from plymouth utah. yup that tiny little town not even a city, a town 20 minutes north of treemonton. so far. but we love our pup and he's lots of fun!!

3 week kitchen project

so dane and i started our kitchen on our new house. we decided that white cabinets would really lighten up the dark kitchen and then we would go from there. So far, i have been cooking out of my front room. not so fun when you want to make cookies that have 10 different ingredients in them! that means 10 trips or more because you think you have everything you need in your arms, but you don't. so far, we have them all primed. This weekend is supposed to be the BIG weekend to finish it all up. i highly doubt we will get it done, but like my mom says, "enjoy the process" so that's what i'll do!
